Trade Unions and the Environment Course

Dear colleagues

Are you interested in environmental issues? A reduction culture? Green jobs and skills? Sustainability initiatives? If so we are running a course for UCU members who are interested in taking forward the green agenda at work. This is a two-day course for UCU reps and members designed for UCU members who wish to develop their understanding of climate change and ways to protect the environment through change at work. It is intended to enable those taking part to develop as environment champions or Environment reps. If you are interested or know a fellow UCU member who may be interested then please pass details of this opportunity onto them.

This course will cover the following

v  environment terminology and the current debate
v  legislation and other environmental information
v  environment management systems
v  current trade union policies and organisation
v  workplace and community strategies

All reasonable expenses will be met by UCU.
