A week of energy themed events will be held at the University and at MOSI during week commencing 12 March 2012.
Modern society is increasingly dependent on secure, reliable and affordable energy resources, services and systems of delivery, with mounting global pressure for these to be low-carbon and sustainable. Many University researchers work in this area on publically and privately funded research grants. To showcase the excellent energy research at the University, the inaugural Manchester Energy week will be held next year. The timetable is now being planned and we are looking for ideas from staff of events they would like to run / be involved with as part of this week.
Events could include the launch of a new research project, a dissemination event, a schools activity, a public debate, tours of key facilities, business engagement events, mini-conferences. Anything is possible! We don’t want events to be limited to just University staff so ideas that engage students, the general public and business are all welcome. Depending on nature of your idea, Manchester Energy may be able to provide funding for catering costs, materials or venue hire.
If you have an idea for an event that you think would help raise the profile of energy activities at Manchester, please email:
info.energy@manchester.ac.uk
and someone will get in touch to discuss it in more detail.
