  1. I have just been in Oviedo, northern Spain, to examine a doctoral thesis on Foucault and Restoration comedy; off to speak this summer at Worcester Literary Festival and giving a Plenary at the University of Cork conference 'Backward Glances'

I’ll be reading from, and discussing, my new book OF ALL PLACES (just announced as a PBS recommendation for Autumn 11!) at the Worlds Festival in Norwich, at the Gallery Press Launch of the book at the Notre Dame Institute in Dublin, at the Stonyhurst Literary Festival, at the John McGahern Summer School in Leitrim and at the British Association of Irish Studies conference in Salford.
